Interstellar travel as AI being

Radiation, inertia, time all work against us when we consider interstellar  travel, or even travel within the solar system, but what if we were able to convert our intelligence from a biology based unit to a physical one such as a computer? With intelligence resting in a computer chip we could pause our consciousness and not worry about the long term effects of time on our bodies. stopping and accelerating would not create undue stress. Shielding could be more complex since biologic life support (air water etc) would be non essential.  Time and boredom could be controlled. Life would be what we experience in the present and a whole new meaning of everlasting life would present itself.

So there we just emotionally jump into the machine.nSorry Florence the  Machine is us and we are the machine.
